Description
We were proud to work alongside AB Engineering, Tilbury Douglas Construction and the Department for Education on the new specialist SEND school at Heywood Sports Village, Rochdale.
As the appointed fire sprinkler contractor, we designed, supplied and installed a complete fire sprinkler system in full compliance with BS EN 12845 standards. Our scope included a fully engineered water supply solution to support the system and a coordinated 3D design using REVIT to integrate seamlessly with the wider construction model.
The use of 3D REVIT design allowed us to identify potential clashes early, optimise the sprinkler layout within tight ceiling voids and ensure smooth coordination with other trades. It also provided the client and design team with clear visualisation of the system prior to installation, helping to streamline approvals and reduce changes on site.
This new two-storey school is purpose-built to support students aged 11 to 19 with Education, Health and Care Plans and a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Designed with a strong focus on sensory and communication needs, the project required a high level of coordination between disciplines. Our BIM capabilities provided added value throughout the process.
Our involvement helped ensure the project met fire safety requirements from planning through to practical completion, contributing to the creation of a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
